General questions and information

These Frequently Asked Questions have been compiled to help you choose the right service, resolve queries, and help you with any iPod repair related questions you may have.

Simply click on the question of your choice from the navigation bar above.

What happens if my iPod can't be repaired?

Do you have a mains charger? If not, we strongly recommend you buy one - a good one! This is one of our main enquiries, especially relating to the Nano models.

The USB connection doesn't offer the same charge as a mains charger and over time the batteries weaken. Giving them a regular mains charge will add new life to your iPod without the need to send it for repair.

If of course this is something that you have covered or doesn't fix your broken iPod then send it in for a repair and a new lease of life.

Do you return my iPod or is it a refurbished one?

We always send you your iPod. If your iPod cannot be repaired then we will dispose of it or return it to you at your request. All you pay is the postage to send it to us. We will not charge the return fee*.

Do you use Apple parts?

We always source parts that represent value for money. We will try to source Apple genuine parts where possible but there is nothing to say that Apple parts are any different from others. We provide a 3 month warranty on all parts and work carried out.

Not all parts within an iPod are branded Apple so it is hard to tell which are genuine and which are 3rd party. It is our understanding that the iPod and the parts are patented to Apple and thus all parts would be produced under license.

Do you offer postage insurance?

Postage and insurance

We offer three levels of return postage using Royal Mail.

  1. 1st Class and is FREE. This comes as part of the repair.
  2. Royal Mail Recorded Delivery and is £2.99. This covers your iPod up to £41 and requires a signature on receipt
  3. Royal Mail Special Delivery and is £5.99. This covers your iPod up to £500 and is guaranteed next day (See terms)

For full details please check the Royal Mail web site.
In some circumstances postage costs could be slightly more when sending multiple iPods.

Can I drop my iPod off?

Of course you can. If you live local and want to call in with your iPod then please contact us to arrange. All local drop offs are dealt with as an examination and payment is made on completion.

Are my details secure?

There is only one answer to that question and that is YES. iPods Repaired don't collect any payment information from you. All payment details are handled securely by Nochex or PayPal and they don't send that information to us.

PayPal Payment Methods

We also accept cash, cheque or postal orders. (Contact us to arrange first). If you want to pay for your iPod repair by cheque then you iPod will not be despatched until the cheque has fully cleared. Cash payments are in person not through the post.

How should I send my iPod?

The first thing to do is to fill out an iPod repair order form, either a broken iPod examination order form or an iPod repair order form.

Once you have received your confirmation email then send the iPod as securely and as well packaged as possible. We suggest wrapping it in bubble wrap and placing it in a Jiffy bag. Who you use to send your iPod is up to you, we use Royal Mail and recommend at least recorded delivery method.

We only collect information relating to the order. We do not take any payment information from you, this is handled by Nochex or PayPal. We do not use your information to pass on to anyone else or to contact you for any reason other than to discus your iPod repair order.

I've not received my email confirmation, what should I do?

Don't worry, just contact us with your order number and we will investigate. The most likely reason for the missing conformation is an incorrect email address. Please double check your form before submitting

Can I cancel or amend my order?
